Eden Hazard overtook Mo Salah as the top points scorer in the Fantasy Premier League with a goal and assist against Brighton.

But the Belgian forward also picked up an injury that could see him miss the Gameweek 18 clash against Leicester.

Hazard limped off as Chelsea earned a 2-1 victory over the Seagulls, causing concern among Chelsea fans and the 35.1 per cent of FPL managers who currently own him.

How serious is the injury?

Maurizio Sarri was quick to play down his star player's injury in the aftermath of his side's 2-1 victory.

“Eden is okay. It's only a knock,” the Italian manager said.

“I spoke with the doctor and he told me it's not a serious problem. He maybe needs one day to rest, two days maximum. No more.”

Should I get rid of him?

Absolutely not.

Chelsea's talisman is returning to the top of his game and, as Sarri said, he only looks set to miss a couple of days of training.

Hazard may miss the Blues' Carabao Cup tie against Bournemouth, but should be back to full fitness for Gameweek 18 when Chelsea host Leicester.

Kevin De Bruyne (£9.7m) should be making his long-awaited return for injury in Gameweek 18, following a place on the reigning champions' bench in Gameweek 17. Consider investing in the attacking midfielder before anyone else does.

i verdict

Selling Hazard ahead of a kind run of fixtures for an improving Chelsea side would be rash to say the least.

Keep the Belgian in your squad and consider handing him the captain's armband for the Blues' match against Leicester.
