Bernabeu to the Bridge? Zidane fave to replace Sarri at Chelsea

With Maurizio Sarri position under threat at Chelsea, our traders have priced up the contenders to replace him at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s FA Cup loss to Manchester United on Monday was their third loss in six games. The team are still struggling to get to grips with Sarri’s tactics. And there’s a real risk they miss out on Champions League football for a second successive season.

Sarri’s now just 4/6 to be the next Premier League manager to leave.

And if he does go, Zinedine Zidane is 2/1 favourite to be in charge when next season starts. The Frenchman comes with real pedigree, having led Real Madrid to the last three Champions League titles.

Gianfranco Zola is 6/1 to step up from his assistant role, the same price as Laurent Blanc.

But it doesn’t look like a third spell in West London is on the cards for Jose Mourinho. He’s back at 16/1.

Alex Apati of Bookmaker said: “Sarri’s sacking is seemingly inevitable and the early signs point towards a stint in the dugout for former Madrid man Zidane.”
