English Premier League Preview – Arsenal vs Chelsea Prediction – Sept 24, 2016 – Emirates Stadium

Chelsea, under their new boss, Antonio Conte, looked like putting behind the horrors of the previous season under Jose Mourinho behind them. Starting the current 2016-17 season with three straight wins. However a unexpected 2-2 draw against Swansea City and a 1-2 loss at home to Liverpool last Friday have set things back for the Blues. The effects of not having the likes of John Terry and Kurt Zouma at the back, out owing to injuries, have begun to tell. David Luiz's second coming for the club hasn't been a great show. Combined with Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta or new signing Ngolo Kante the Chelsea defense has been a real letdown.

In fact poor defending against Liverpool cost them the match at Stamford Bridge last week. This is the real Achilles heel that Arsenal would like to exploit when the Blues come visiting to the Emirates on Saturday.

Alexis Sanchez with four goals so far will be a perennial threat for the Chelsea defense. So will be Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla.

For the Gunners even the likes of Calum Chambers, Laurent Koscielny and new acquisition Granit Xhaka, all of whom play in defensive positions, have shown a willingness to come upfront in search of goals. That's what has got the club 12 goals from their 5 outings (which is only next to Manchester City's tally of 15).

Chelsea have scored 10 goals so far and points-wise they are locked with Arsenal. However the Blues are but a notch below in the 5th spot by virtue of a inferior goal average. Diego Costa with 5 goals and new signing Michy Batshuayi with 3 goals have come good for the Blues. But those players haven't scored when it mattered. Along with Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas, Costa and Batshuayi will need to get a few at the Emirates if they are to get past the Gunners. They seem to be on a roll after consecutive wins over Watford (1-3), Southampton (2-1) and Hull City (1-4).

The last time these two met at the Emirates in a 2015-16 season EPL clash in January this year, Chelsea had prevailed with a solitary goal. Bookmakers are expecting that to reverse when the two meet again at the same arena on Saturday 24th evening. Odds favor Arsenal distinctly as the following figures show.

Correct Score tips Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea @ 6/1

Arsenal 2-2 Chelsea @ 12/1
