The Super Sunday fixture this weekend looks to be a cracker as Arsenal and Manchester City go head-to-head at the Emirates Stadium. These two will both be confident of a victory here and the pressure is sure to be on them to take all three points.

Arsenal need a win to try and move closer to the top four and with Everton and Chelsea playing on Saturday, the might be even further adrift by the time they kick-off, whereas City could be 10 points away from Manchester United at the top of the table.

When on top of their game, there are no better teams to watch in the Premier League than these two as they have attacking players of the highest quality. The problem this season though is that neither have been able to put in consistent performances for a lengthy spell.

The Gunners were on a four game winning streak in the top flight, but could only manage a somewhat fortunate draw at Southampton last week, so a result is needed here.

Arsene Wenger’s men won this encounter 1-0 last season, so do know what it takes to beat their opponents and also managed to take a 1-1 draw from the Etihad Stadium earlier in the campaign.

Theo Walcott is in a decent bit of goal-scoring form right now and could be given the chance to play as a striker once more on Sunday.

As for Manchester City, if you take out the Boxing Day defeat to Sunderland, you would say they have started to finally click into gear over recent weeks, especially in the 4-3 win at Norwich City and 3-0 victory over Stoke City.

It is going to take a big performance from Roberto Mancini’s side to win here as they are without influential midfielder Yaya Toure as he is at the African Cup of Nations. City do have a big squad though and the likes of Gareth Barry and possibly Javi Garcia will need to raise their game in North London.

With Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero all amongst the goals in recent weeks, Mancini certainly has plenty to ponder, but he will be happy that his three front-men are all in good form.

It will be a cracking 90 minutes of action this weekend, but Manchester City might just have that bit of quality that is needed in front of goal. Arsenal are sure to play their part but in the end, the Premier League champions will take the game 3-1.
