Taylor eyeing Lincoln history – Betfred Blog - (2026)

Hayley Turner believes she has a great opportunity to become just the second female jockey to win the Lincoln when she partners Ripp Orf (12/1 Lincoln outright) on Saturday.
With a big field set to take to the course at Doncaster on Saturday, thrills and spills are expected for the first big race of the new British Flat season.
Turner is bidding to seal her place in history after being handed the chance to reunite with Ripp Orf.
The pair were last together in July 2018, coming third in the Gigaset International Stakes at Ascot, and have enjoyed success in the past.
Indeed, in five rides with Ripp Orf, Taylor has only finished outside of the top three on one occasion.
Ripp Orf was guided to victory in the Victoria Cup at Ascot in May 2018 with Turner on board and she is hoping for a repeat performance this weekend.
Alex Greaves is currently the only female jockey to win the showpiece event, riding Amenable to glory for David Barron in 1991.
“I’m really pleased to have got the ride on him. I won the Victoria Cup, so I know him well – he’s a horse that just takes a bit of knowing,” Turner told Sky Sports Racing. “The big field will suit him, the lack of rain will probably help as well. He has won on soft ground, but it’s a mile.
“I know he’s going very well at home. He led me in a gallop the other day and I couldn’t get close to him, so fingers crossed. It’s a bit of a cavalry charge. You need a bit of luck and a good draw.”
But it won’t prove to be an easy outing for Ripp Orf with the likes of Auxerre, the 7/2 favourite with Betfred, Saltonstall (8/1) and Kynren (8/1) to contend with.
