Updated: 24/02/2026
The 2019 French Open rolls into Round 4 on Sunday, June 2 at the clay courts at Roland-Garros. Petra Martic takes on Kaia Kanepi after knocking out Karolina Pliskova in the third round. Also on the women’s side on Sunday, Garbine Muguruza battles Sloane Stephens. Although the men’s side doesn’t have as much drama, Kei Nishikori versus Benoit Paire should be a fantastic matchup. Finally, does Roger Federer have what it takes to keep winning? Check out Roland Garros Round 4 odds and a betting preview!
2019 French Open Round 4 Odds & Betting Preview – June 2nd
Sunday, June 2
Martic handled Pliskova’s power beautifully in Round 3. She took down her favored rival 6-3, 6-3. Tennis handicappers probably shouldn’t have been surprised. In most head-to-head matches with Pliskova, Martic has prevailed. She has yet to lose a set in 3 straight matches at Roland-Garros.
In the third round, Kaia Kanepi struggled with Veronika Kudermetova. She lost the first set 4-6 before picking it up and beating Kudermetova 6-3, 6-0. Kanepi has skills. She faces a tennis player on fire on Sunday, though. Martic should keep her unblemished set streak intact.
Tennis Betting Pick: Petra Martic
Like Petra Martic, Garbine Muguruza has played close to flawless tennis at Roland-Garros. She lost her first set in Round 1. Since then, she’s been perfect. Garbine dominated Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-3 in Round 3.
Muguruza’s favored over Sloane Stephens, but the American player has a shot on Sunday. Stephens beat Pelona Hercog 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. She most definitely has what it takes to upset Muguruza. These two have faced each other twice. Sloane has a victory while Garbine won the other match. Stephens is the play.
Tennis Betting Pick: Sloane Stephens
Roger Federer is a massive favorite to take down Leonardo Mayer on June 2. In 3 head-to-head matches, Federer dominated Mayer. Although Leonardo doesn’t appear to have any shot, he might be worth backing at the +636 odds.
Federer waltzed through the first couple of rounds, putting a beating on both Lorenzo Sonego and Oscar Otte. He needed a tiebreaker set to beat Casper Ruud in Round 3, though. Not only that, but the tiebreaker set happened in the third set. Federer also won the tiebreaker, 10-8, meaning Ruud kept him on the court for a while.
The chalk should win. The dog’s worth backing at the odds.
Tennis Betting Pick: Leonardo Mayer
Kei Nishikori and Benoit Paire have faced off a total of 8 times. Nishikori has won 6-of-8, which is why he’s the -200 favorite in this Sunday match. Although Kei should be favored, he had a tough go of it against Laslo Djere in Round 3. Djere pushed Nishikori to 5 sets. He even beat Kei 4-6 in the fourth set.
Paire has played a lot of tennis in three rounds at Roland-Garros. He played four sets in the win over Marius Copil. In the victory against Pierre-Hugues Herbert, Paire played 5 sets. He was on his way to at least a fourth set against Pablo Carreno Busta before Busta retired.
Benoit Paire has shown he can beat Kei Nishikori. It’s unlikely he beats Nishikori on Sunday. Paire has played way too much tennis to hang with a rival that often has had his number.
Tennis Betting Pick: Kei Nishikori
