Rams miss a late field goal - (2026)

In the dying moments, the Rams tried a 40+ yard field goal to reduce the deficit, then hoped for an onside kick. They missed it – leaving one meaningless snap for New England, who are now WORLD CHAMPIONS!

It was a tight, attritional match; one where LA in particular found offensive yards very hard to come by. In the fourth quarter, Edelman, who had been magnificent throughout, Brady, Gronk, and Michel fashioned effectively a match-winning drive for the game’s only touchdown. Typical, big-match, high pressure football from some of the game’s very best professionals.

Opposite number Goff was desperately disappointing, and Gurley flickered in and out of the match, confirming surely that he’s not quite in AI ‘nick.’

A big shout out to coach of the moment – of the thick end of the last 2 decades – Bill Belichick. An amazing achievement. Well done to the Pats. It wasn’t pretty, but it was pretty effective.
