Race Preview
Gordon Bennett looks well worth chancing on his first start for Peter Fahey. Once rated as high as 94 after a superb spell in 2022, he has tumbled to a career-low mark of 56 and has previously shown he can run well fresh. The booking of champion jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle, who is riding at a 25% strike-rate over the past fortnight, catches the eye, and this looks an ideal opportunity to capitalise on a lenient handicap mark.
Pete's Dream is the obvious danger after finally getting off the mark at Fairyhouse before following up with a solid third at Killarney despite a higher rating. He arrives in consistent form, although all four previous attempts over this shorter 7f trip have ended in defeat, raising a slight concern.
Master Garvey is an appealing each-way proposition. He is far from prolific but regularly runs into the frame and produced another solid third at Gowran last time. His trainer has recently hit form, and off the basement mark he should be competitive again.
Launch Time won over this course and distance earlier in the season and has claims if returning to that level, though he shapes as though a mile may now suit better. Jazzit ran his best turf race when third in a competitive Cork sprint and remains open to improvement back at this distance, while The Blue Panther arrives after a good Gowran second but remains difficult to trust for consistency.
Value Angle
Master Garvey appeals most at each-way odds. He arrives in decent form, is attractively handicapped, and looks capable of picking up another place in what looks an open contest.

Verdict
Gordon Bennett has become dangerously well handicapped and returns from a break with a top jockey booked, making him the standout selection. Pete's Dream is respected after two solid recent efforts, while Master Garvey rates the best value play for each-way backers.
