Revitalised Broncos set for more glory

London Broncos vs. Hull Kingston Rovers

Thursday's televised game could have massive implications on the relegation battle as the bottom two sides clash in London, and it's the reinvigorated Broncos who can clinch another vital two points.

Danny Ward's side were winning back-to-back matches in the league for the first time this season with last week's impressive 30-12 success at Catalans, following on from their stunning 23-22 golden-point victory over St Helens, the runaway leaders becoming the latest team to come unstuck on the artificial pitch in Ealing.

Rovers, who won the first meeting between the sides 22-12 in Round 3 at home, have responded well under new coach Tony Smith and took a scalp themselves last week when beating his former club Warrington 16-14 at home. It's been a busy week on the transfer front at Craven Park, with Warrington's Luis Johnson and Harvey Livett coming in along with prop Daniel Murray from Salford to strengthen their pack.

This is as tight as it gets on paper, with just 5 points in the PD column in Hull KR's favour keeping them above their opponents at the foot of the Super League table. Home advantage tips things the way of the gutsy Broncos this time and they should be backed to lift themselves off the bottom with a third straight win and fourth in five games.

The longest day for the Rhinos?

St Helens vs. Leeds Rhinos

St Helens look set for another win in Friday's televised match but their struggling visitors should make them fight for it again and look the bet on the handicap.

Saints bounced back from just their second defeat of the year at London with a merciless 38-2 home win over Huddersfield, five tries in a dominant twenty minute-spell in the first-half ensuring they had things sewn up early. Regan Grace, with 14 Super League tries to his name this year, and Matty Lees are back in Justin Holbrook's squad.

Leeds will feel they should have got more out of last week's game against Wigan, going down to a frustrating 23-14 defeat, their twelfth of the season in the league and one which leaves them alongside Hull KR and London at the bottom of the table but with the superior points difference. Hooker Matt Parcell returns from suspension in place of Tui Lolohea, who is playing for Tonga. Captain Kallum Watkins is set for his penultimate appearance before joining Gold Coast Titans on July 1st.

After last week's encouraging performance a bet on the visitors on the handicap getting a start of eighteen is tempting.

An eight-point start was enough to see punters collect when the Rhinos made their opponents battle for a 27-22 victory at the Totally Wicked Stadium back in February and a similar display could be in the offing. Trent Merrin put in a mighty shift against Wigan, scoring one and having another chalked-off in a massive call late on. He's worth a wager to notch again and help handicap-backers on their way.
