A UK EU Referendum Before 2020

The chances of a second referendum on EU membership are shrinking by the day and have now reached their lowest odds since markets opened last year.

Hundreds of thousands of protesters marched through London on Saturday calling for a second vote on Brexit as Parliament prepares for a series of indicative votes next week in an attempt to break the impasse, one of which is said to be for another referendum.

BoyleSports chalked up a second referendum at 20/1 last summer, but those odds had collapsed into as low as 3/1 after the Labour Party said recently they would back the People’s Vote. But with the official Brexit date officially extended beyond March 29th, the odds have now shrunk further and the latest betting rates it an 11/5 shot that a referendum is held before the end of this year.

Theresa May’s future in Number 10 Downing Street looks more perilous by the day also, and the odds of her being replaced at any time during 2019 have crumbled into 1/5 from 8/15 over the past 7 days.

The calls for a second referendum are at their loudest with the continued Brexit impasse…

and the money is as hot as ever this weekend, coinciding with the big march in London.

Whatever happens next week, punters rate Theresa May’s chances of staying in Downing Street very slim indeed having backed her over the past few days into 1/5 from 8/15 to go this year.
