Punters Backing Brexit Delay After Bercow Intervention | BoyleSports Betting | Kevin Kilbane | Robbie Power
‘No Deal' On 30th March
Punters are banking on an extension to article 50 as opposed to a ‘No Deal’ Brexit at the end of the month after House of Commons Speaker John Bercow threw Theresa May’s Brexit strategy into major doubt.
Bercow warned the government on Monday that it may not bring the withdrawal agreement back to Parliament for a third vote unless it is substantially different to from the deal that has already been emphatically rejected twice by MPs.
While the legal position remains that the UK will leave the EU on March 29th, you can now get odds of 5/1 from 4/1 with us that they crash out with no deal.
It is into 1/9 from 1/7 that a no deal scenario is avoided this month as press reports suggest that Theresa May will seek a lengthy extension to article 50 from the EU.
Remain MPs are likely to increase calls for a second referendum on EU membership in the event of a delay to Brexit and the odds for another vote happening before 2020 are just 9/4, making it more likely than a no deal Brexit.
