After some solid efforts this season, Dingo Dollar will be in his element in this demanding stamina test, run over four miles.

His most notable performance this season came in December when third behind Sizing Tennessee in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury.

He runs off a pound lower handicap mark than he carried on that occasion and is weighted to confirm the form with Beware The Bear (now 13lb worse off) who was behind him in fourth place.

Crosshue Boy, the gamble in the race, has to respected as he beat the selection at this course last season but is now 7lb worse off in the weights.

The globe-trotting DEFOE (1.40, nb) can start his new season in style by making it back-to-back wins the John Porter Stakes at Newbury.

Following last year's success, the gelding posted some outstanding performances in Group One races. On his latest start in Munich he finished an excellent second behind Iquitos.

A repeat of that performance will enable him to take this for the second time.

Hampshire trainer Marcus Tregoning, successful with Sir Percy in the 2006 Derby, has not enjoyed high profile success in the recent years but believes MOHAATHER (2.40, treble) is a horse that can put him back in the big time.

The colt finished last season in style when taking the Group 3 Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury in October.

In recent weeks Tregonning has been talking up the chances and will have the most to fear from Great Scot.

He was not disgraced when finishing fifth in the competitive Racing Post Trophy behind Magna Grecia at Doncaster in October.
