Horse racing tips today: Horses you must back at Ascot, Haydock, Thirsk, Kempton | Racing | Sport
Her task will be considerably helped by late absence of Advertise, due to a low-grade virus, as Forever In Dreams had finished second behind him at Royal Ascot in June.
On that occasion the filly had today’s rivals Hello Youmzain, third, and Khaadem, seventh, behind her.
Kevin Ryan, the trainer of Hello Youmzain, believes his runner was unlucky on that occasion after missing the break but Forever In Dreams can also be considered unfortunate as she took a hefty bump leaving the stalls.
Today’s testing conditions should not be a problem for the Aidan Fogarty-trained filly.
She has won on soft ground in France and was also successful over the course and distance in May for her Tipperary-based trainer.
The conditions will favour The Tin Man, last year’s winner, but he has repeatedly disappointed since that success.
HERE COME WHEN (2.25, nap) will also be in his element on these testing ground and can make it back-to-back wins in the Betfair Mile.
He slammed a better field in last year’s race than he meets today and with Oisin Murphy in the saddle he will be hard to catch.
Frankie Dettori can kick off the meeting with a winner when he partners FIRST IN LINE (1.50, treble).
The three-year-old was not disgraced in defeat when chasing home Hamish at York last month.
BLAKENEY POINT (3.35) can take advantage of his considerable drop in the ratings by taking the Betfair Old Borough Cup.
At Ascot TABARRAK (2.45) looks a cut above his rivals in the Cunard Handicap. He is handicapped up to the hilt but can defy the assessor.
BEST SOLUTION (2.05) can use the September Stakes as prep race for the Arc, like last year’s winner Enable.
He was last seen when down the field in the Melbourne Cup in November but has some solid credentials.
STREAMLINE (4.25) has the credentials to maintain trainer Clive Cox’s excellent run of success with his juveniles by taking the Sirenia Stakes.
