Next Tottenham manager: Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers the favourite; Benitez the dark horse

Updated: 23/05/2022
Odds for the next Tottenham manager:
The search for Tottenham's new manager could well drift past the end of the current Premier League season what with early favourites Maurizio Sarri and Erik ten Hag virtually out of the reckoning.

While ten Hag signed a new contract with his club Ajax, the out-of-work Sarri was slated for a Roma job but ex-Spurs manager Jose Mourinho beat him to it.
Scott Parker is the next favourite to take over at the Tottenham stadium. The Fulham head coach could dodge himself out of the SkyBet Championship or the second rung of English football to which his relegation-facing side are headed for in the coming season.
Third favourite for the Spurs' job is Nuno Espirito Santo who at present is having a torrid time with the Wolves this season. Seriously handicapped by the absence of key players and with the prospect of his side finishing well into the bottom half of the Premier League, the Portuguese may want a way out of Molineux.
RB Leipzig head coach Ralf Rangnick is surprisingly in the mix at odds of 6/1 and the next favourite after Santo.
The next one to follow Rangnick is Brighton & Hove's Graham Potter at 8/1.
But the name that has cropped up for the Spurs job of late has created flutters. At odds of 20/1, Rafael Benitez could be the dark horse to take over reins at the North London club. Benitez is currently out of work having left his role as manager of Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Professional by mutual consent in January.
After having lost out on his first choice Borussia Dortmund's Julien Nagelsmann to Bayern Munich, Tottenham owner Daniel Levy is reportedly backing Benitez, saying that the Spaniard as their new manager “wouldn't be the worst shout”. Benitez could be worth betting on and there is a distinct possibility that his current odds of 20/1 could shorten drastically in due course.
Odds for the next Tottenham manager: (SkyBet)
- Brendan Rodgers: 3/1
- Scott Parker: 4/1
- Nuno Espirito Santo: 5/1
- Ralf Rangnick: 6/1
- Graham Potter: 8/1
- Maurizio Sarri: 16/1
- Rafael Benitez: 20/1
