Man United Transfer Betting – Devils Tipped to beat Liverpool on Signing of Maddison
Manchester United are 2/1 favourites to pip Liverpool to the signing of Leicester City hotshot James Maddison, according to bookie SportNation.bet.
With United's transfer policy in recent times focusing on young English stars and having signed his former Foxes team-mate Harry Maguire this summer, they are poised to win out in a potential January swoop – despite Leicester only signing him last summer for £20million.
But Maddison's already high stock has risen again after he scored a screamer in an all-round brilliant performance to see high-flying Leicester home to a 2-1 victory over Tottenham last weekend, and is priced around the £80m mark.
Jurgen Klopp's table toppers are thought to be preparing a January swoop and are 5/1 to sign the 22-year-old with money to spend after not buying anyone senior this summer. Spurs in third at 8/1, while Europe's big three clubs in Barca, Real and Juve are all 25/1.
A spokesman for SportNation.bet said: “With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side heavily depleted, both in terms of creativity and injuries, they are crying out for a creative force to bring glory back to Old Trafford. They face stiff competition, but with rookie Maddison already being talked up for a move away by Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, a move to a Premier League giant as soon as January will surprise no-one.”
