Here Comes The Son
[ad_1]
After Harry Kane picked up an injury in Tottenham Hotspurs’ defeat to Manchester United last month, many predicted it could derail Spurs’ season.
Combine that with Dele Alli and Eric Dier also getting injured, and it looked as though Spurs were in deep trouble.
However in their absence, it has been Heung Min-Son who has stepped up to the plate. The South Korean has been away on international duty for parts of the season, but has crucially been the go-to man for Spurs in recent weeks.
After his emphatic display last night against Borussia Dortmund, he now has 16 goals in all competitions this season, with 11 in his last 12 games. His goal return is one every two games, which for a winger, is rather impressive.
His performances for Spurs often go under the radar, with Harry Kane (pictured below) usually stealing the headlines. Maybe now people will realise how crucial Son is for Spurs, and what he brings to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
No Kane, no problem.
He is the man keeping Spurs going in an attacking sense, and with Kane now on the brink of a return, his contribution cannot be praised highly enough.
Dark Horses?
Spurs are 20/1 to win the Premier League this season, and they currently sit five points behind joint-leaders Manchester City and Liverpool.
We’ve previously discussed how Spurs may be dark horses for the league title, and maybe it’s time to consider those arguments in Europe also.
After a scintillating second half display, Spurs are now within touching distance of a quarter-final in the Champions League.
Borussia Dortmund are no pushovers – they currently sit top of the Bundesliga, five points clear of Bayern Munich. Spurs’ emphatic 3-0 win last night was fully deserved, and a glowing reminder that they can be a huge threat in this competition when they get it right.
They will be a much better team when Kane and co. return you would have thought, so a price of 14/1 for them to lift the Champions League may provide some cracking value.
