Swiss strugglers to land a few blows
Sion v Thun
Saturday 30 November, 18:00
It took a while, but we're finally on a roll. Odds-on favourites Hamburg slipped up at Osnabruck last night, and their 2-1 defeat gave us a second straight winner.
We'll make the short trip to Switzerland, because Sion are up against Thun in the Swiss Super League, and it could be an incredibly lively affair between two teams that have struggled to defend this term.
Sion are on poor form. They have taken just one point from their last four home games, and they have lost seven of their last eight overall. In those eight outings, they have scored 11 goals and conceded an eye-watering 22.
Thun are bottom of the standings, and have lost nine of their last 11 games in the league. They also crashed out of the Schweizer Pokal. They have claimed a measly nine points from their 15 league games, and they have the worst defensive record in the division, with 32 goals leaked.
If you look at Thun's last five SSL matches, three of them have seen both teams score, and at least three goals netted. For Sion, that's happened in seven of their last nine games. Both teams need to push for a rare win, and I don't expect defences to dominate.
