FA Cup quarter-final fixtures and odds for winners.
All the UK bookmaker odds quoted are general, were correct as of 14/02/2021 and subject to change.
The schedule for the 2020-21 Emirates FA Cup got underway on the evening of Thursday, February 11th with Premier League heavyweights Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Leicester City making it to the final eight of the competition.
The line-up is as follows:
FA Cup quarter-final fixtures
- Everton vs Manchester City
- Bournemouth vs Southampton
- Leicester City vs Manchester United
- Chelsea vs Sheffield United
The games will be played on March 20-21 which happens to be a weekend.
In their current form, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are the bookmakers' favourites to take the Cup as they did in 2012, 2018 and 2019. The six-time Champions of the tournament are in sight of a Premier League title for the ongoing 2020-21 season and would surely like to add one more feather in the cap. But their draw against a resurgent Everton at Goodison Park is not expected to be a cakewalk by any means especially after the Toffees splendid show in overcoming Tottenham after being down to an early goal in a thrilling 5-4 fifth round win.
Odds for Man City to take the Cup
Eight-time FA Cup champions Chelsea are the next in line as the punters' favourites to take the Cup. The Blues who last lifted the FA Cup in the 2017 season are making a comeback under new coach Thomas Tuchel in an otherwise dismal 2020-21 season. The Blues have leapt to the 5th place on the Premier League points table from a lowly ninth when Frank Lampard exited Stamford Bridge as coach in late January. Having registered five successive win under Tuchel so far, the Blues will feel confident in going past Chris Wilders' Sheffield United who are in the midst of their worst form in recent memory, not being able to extricate themselves out of the bottom of the Premier League table all season.
Odds for Chelsea to take the Cup
Up next to Chelsea in the bookmakers' third are 12-time winners Manchester United. Ole Solksjaer men are still smarting from yet another semi-final defeat in the EFL Cup against Man City will want to put that debacle behind them when they face Leicester City for the toughest encounter of the Round of 8 draw at the King Power stadium. The Red Devils have done well in dumping out Premier league title-holders and seven-time FA Cup champions Liverpool and West Ham in their progress to the quarter-finals and will be hoping to eliminate Brendan Rodgers' Foxes when they visit Leicester come March.
Odds for Manchester United to take the Cup
Leicester City are the fourth favourites and in them they have one of the best finishers in English football in the form of Jamie Vardy. Vardy along with players like James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Youri Tielemans to assist have it in them to take Leicester City all the way and land them the silverware they have never won. Despite presently positioned third in the Premier League, a poor stint at the King Power in an otherwise impressive season may go against the Foxes when they come up against a Manchester United side thirsting for the title.
Odds for Leicester City to take the Cup
Southampton have placed ahead of Everton as the punters' fifth favourite having been drawn against a much less stronger adversary in the form of Bournemouth. Ralph Hasenhuttl's Saint who are having a nightmarish 2021 in the Premier league were gifted a FA Cup passage to the Round of 8 with an own goal from Arsenal defender Gabriel in a 5th round tie on January 23rd.
Odds for Southampton to take the Cup
Everton have seen their odds lengthen to 14/1 after their tough draw against rampaging favourites Man City and despite their heroics in the 9-goal thriller against Tottneham they are sixth on the bookmakers' list of favourites. But they have prolific scorers in folks like Domninic Calvert-Lewin, James Rodriguez and Richarlison who capable of beating the odds.
Odds for Everton to take the Cup
The odd ones out are Arsenal, winners of last season and Liverpool, both of whom have 21 FA Cup titles between them. Premier League Liverpool's performances have especially been astonishingly dismal in recent times having been eliminated in the fifth round or earlier in each of the last five seasons of the Cup.
