Bundesliga Accumulator Tips: Huge Test For Dortmund Title Challenge

Quinnbet Welcome Offer

The Bundesliga is back! After what seems an eternity, the German top flight gets back underway this weekend with a clutch of enticing fixtures. Chief among them is Borussia Dortmund’s trip to RB Leipzig.

After a first half of the season that saw BVB lead the table, Schalke struggle near the bottom and Bayern Munich bounce back from a poor start, there’s plenty of anticipation as to what lies ahead in 2019.

Hoffenheim vs. Bayern Munich

Friday, 18 January, 19:30

The action kicks off on Friday night when draw specialists Hoffenheim host Bayern Munich.

A pre season target of finishing in the top four could still come to pass for Julian Nagelsmann and his team, but they’ll need to find much greater consistency, especially at home.

Three wins from nine games at home is a statistic that speaks volumes of their troubles and it isn’t even defeats that have been the issue. Instead it’s a run of six straight draws before the break that saw them drift to six points off fourth and they need to rediscover the winning touch soon.

function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height); resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered', function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize', function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}

It’s a lot to ask, however, that they do so on the first game back against Bayern, who themselves won five in a row to close the gap at the top to six points.

Niko Kovac remains in place as manager and the squad will be raring to go, though a few injuries are still affecting the team. Look to big half seasons from Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry. Both can have an impact in this game and contribute to goals.

Bayer Leverkusen vs. Borussia Monchengladbach

Saturday, 19 January, 14:30

Leverkusen have been frustratingly inconsistent so far this term and are capable of a lot more than they’ve shown — as evidenced by their current ranking of ninth. The top six is the minimum aim, with the attacking talent at their disposal, and they need to get far more out of the likes of Leon Bailey and Lucas Alario.

Borussia Monchengladbach have been extremely watchable, but their form has wavered between exceptional at home and absurd away. It will give B04 hope of making a winning start to the second half of the campaign.

function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height); resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered', function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize', function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}

Whichever way the result goes, there should be goals: both sides had three or more goals in three of their last six before the break. Also, Leverkusen have conceded the most goals at home in the top half and BMG conceded the second highest in the top half away.

An extremely entertaining match is on the way and it guarantees plenty of goals.

RB Leipzig vs. Borussia Dortmund

Saturday, 19 January, 17:30

The key fixture of the weekend sees the table toppers head to Leipzig to face an RBL side that is unbeaten at home.

It’s a real contrast of ideals in terms of the two clubs. RBL remain one of the most vilified in the country and BVB are admired around Europe for their passionate fanbase, ability to scout young players and play dynamic, offensive-minded football.

body[data-twttr-rendered=”true”] {background-color: transparent;}.twitter-tweet {margin: auto !important;}

function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height); resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered', function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize', function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}

The truth of the matter is that, despite topping the table, Dortmund did struggle away early on in the season. BVB didn’t fully set players free and this game could be another tactical battle.

Leipzig will be desperate to preserve their top four status and unbeaten home record, and they have the players to do exactly that.

Schalke 04 vs. Wolfsburg

Sunday, 20 January, 17:00

Our final selection is the last game of the weekend and there’s no point dragging it out; we’re going to back Schalke to finally kick start their season with an impressive performance and much needed win on home soil.

S04 managed to drag themselves away from the bottom three spots in the weeks before the winter break, but they’re still a lot closer to relegation than to Europe.

body[data-twttr-rendered=”true”] {background-color: transparent;}.twitter-tweet {margin: auto !important;}

function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height); resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered', function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize', function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}

They need a statement display and to give fans cause for optimism, and Wolfsburg’s upturn in form in December means the break came at the wrong moment for them.

A big start to 2019 for S04.
