Wigan Relegation
Fulham Relegation from the Premiership 2008/9 Football betting PreviewWigan Joy Looks Shortlived
Having secured their Premiership status with a last day victory at Sheffield United, Wigan Athletic's celebrations were quickly cut short by the resignation of manager Paul Jewell the next day.
Chris Hutchings, Jewell's assistant, was promoted as his successor - a move that looks ill-advised on the part of chairman Dave Whelan.
Already Arjen De Zeeuw and David Unsworth - the match-winner at Bramall Lane - are among those that have been released, while the likes of Leighton Baines, Henri Camara and Lee McCulloch could all be destined for pastures new.
Despite having the readies, Wigan have found attracting players to the JJB Stadium difficult enough under Jewell - that looks likely to become an awful lot more difficult under Hutchings.
It might be a long-term bet and it could be argued that the 7-5 available from VCBet for Wigan to be relegated next season is too short a price given that, but it is very difficult to envisage Wigan avaoiding the drop next term.
