QPR Can Close In On Safety
QPR have done much to ease their relegation worries with consecutive 1:0 victories at home to Preston North End and away to Coventry City and they would appear to have an ideal opportunity to further ease their concerns with victory over Luton Town on Easter Monday.
The visitors have really started to pay the price for the sale of many of their better players over the past couple of years, a policy that has brought in good (and necessary) money, but one that was always likely to catch up with them eventually given their inability to replace like with like and which has left them with a severely depleted and limited squad.
Luton have slumped to the foot of the Championship on the back of a run that has seen them take just a single point from eight matches, during which time there was the acrimonious departure of manager Mike Newell. Former Leeds United boss Kevin Blackwell has since been appointed as Newell's successor, but he is already making noises that suggest he is fairly resigned to their fate this term.
Betdirect go 10-11 the QPR win and under the circumstances that looks like a decent punt.
