It's been a frustrating time for Peterborough United of late, with five straight defeats bringing their charge up the League Two table to a grinding halt, just as it seemed that they were gaining real momentum for a promotion push.With the serious financial backing of Darragh MacAnthony behind them, Peterborough manager Keith Alexander knows that he eneeds to get his team back to winning ways quickly if he is to retain his own job, with this Saturday's FA Cup tie at home to Championship side Plymouth Argyle looking to be an ideal opportunity to spark a revival.
Peterborough have already been busy in the January transfer window strengthening their squad, and although several of the new recruits will be cup-tied here, they should still be capable of pushing the visitors all the way.
Plymouth have serious problems of their own, having gone five league games without a win and with a growing list of absentees to contend with.
Inspirational captain Paul Wotton is already ruled out for the remainder of the season with injury, while the strike-force is severely depleted for the trip to London Road, with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Nick Chadwick both injured, while Barry Hayles misses out through suspension.
