Nottingham Forest - League One
Forest Can Fly To League One PromotionWith the relegation of Leeds United to League One, some of the pressure that has been on Nottingham Forest in the past two seasons will be taken off Colin Calderwood's men for the coming campaign.
With Leeds very future in doubt and their current position leaving manager Dennis Wise in limbo in terms of bringing in the players he needs, the Yorkshire club are certainly not a punt worth taking at this stage.
Forest, on the other hand, look capable of bouncing back from the heartache of last season's play-off semi-final defeat at the hands of Yeovil Town. The signing of Neil Lennon from Celtic brings a wealth of experience to the midfield and should possess the strength of character to ensure that nobody goes into the new campaign nursing a hangover over last season's near miss.
An additional major bonus is that key player Kris Commons has committed to the club, while the signing of Matt Lockwood from Leyton Orient has secured one of the most consistent players in lower league football over recent years. At the time of writing it also appears that a deal is about to go through for the Yeovil pair of Chris Cohen and Aaron Davies. The latter was instrumental in Yeovil's demolition of Forest at the City Ground in the 2nd leg of the play-off semi-final last term.
With Junior Agogo and Nathan Tyson providing a lively front-pairing, scoring goals shouldn't be an issue either.
The 6-1 available with William Hill on Forest to win the League One title looks a fair bet, with 1/4 the odds for an e/w punt on a top three finish.
