Macclesfield 5-4 with

To say it's been a disappointing season to date for Macclesfield is a massive understatement, with the team yet to secure a single victory in any competition and already 10-points short of safety.

That makes this weekend's clash at home to next-to-bottom Boston United the proverbial must-win game for Paul Ince's new team, with anything less than three points leaving what is already an uphill task looking nigh on insurmountable.

There are signs that this could be the day that things finally come good for Macclesfield though, with Ince's charges putting in some improved performances of late, including having held league leaders Walsall to a goalless draw in the FA Cup on Monday evening.

Boston by contrast are seemingly going the other way, with manager Steve Evans and former chairman Patrick Malkinson both receiving suspended jail sentences earlier this month for a tax scam they carried out at the club. The club's finances are in a mess, with the threat of administration having been mentioned and they are also in poor form on the pitch, having not won a match since late September.

The 5-4 available with Coral on the Macclesfield victory might look to be on the short side for a team with their record, but it still probably just about passes as a value bet.
