Newcastle have started reasonably well, which is testament to manager Glenn Roeder given their injury problems and the desperately poor defence.The frailties at the back could really come into the spotlight now that goalkeeper Shay Given has been ruled out for six weeks and Liverpool will surely have more than enough quality to see off the visitors here.
Backing Liverpool to win this game is relatively unappealing given the odds, so the way to go here is probably to back them on the Handicap.
This may be the game where Rafael Benitez's team finely click and it looks worth going with Bet365's offer of 6-4 on Liverpool with the Geordies receiving a one-goal start (i.e. Liverpool need to win by a minimum of two goals).
