Colchester United 3 Leeds 2 provided the FA Cup with one of its greatest ever upsets back in 1971, so it's a sign how far the former have risen and the latter fallen in the intervening years that the meeting at Elland Road on Saturday sees Colchester far higher in the Championship table than their opponents.

New Leeds boss Dennis wise has now had a couple of weeks with his new charges and is beginning to shake things up at the club, having already pinpointed a lack of fitness and an ageing squad as two areas of concern.

There have already been a couple of loan moves in and out of the club, while the absence of a midweek fixture should have enabled the new management team to work on fitness and retsoring some much-needed self-belief in the ranks.

Although very much the surprise package of the Championship to date, Colchester's success has largely been built around their terrific home form and their tight little ground, Layer Road.

There is still enough quality within the Leeds squad to suggest that they could still be involved with a late charge for the play-offs once Wise gets a chance to wheel and deal in the January transfer window but, if they are to do so, this game is all but securing three points to try and lift them out of the bottom three.

The 5-4 with Coral for the Leeds victory looks a tempting price.
