Bajan can Shine
Written by Nick Luck on Monday, 28 April 2008We are going around the country today and we will start off at Towcester with Bajan Sunshine in the 4:10. He used to be quite talented but the wheels have fallen off in the last 18 months. He is now with a new trainer in a low-grade race and I just wonder if the change of stables will rekindle the enthusiasm.
At Lingfield we go for Shanzu in the 3:50. She is from an in-form stable and showed good promise at Goodwood last season and I would expect her to be well enough treated to win on her seasonal debut.
Prime Number at Windsor in the 6:40 is a slightly more gnarled campaigner, but everything is set up for decent show.
Ballydoyle in the groove It was a good weekend for Aidan O’Brien and that could be quite significant. In recent seasons he was been a little slow to get off the mark, but yesterday the corner began to turn with the first Group One winner of the season with Duke Of Marmalade in the Prix Ganay and I think that is a horse who can go on and score in lots more Group Ones. They also scored with Yeats, their champion stayer, and he is going to bid for a third Gold Cup at Ascot and it is exciting times ahead for Ballydoyle.
