Candy's Star is Sweet
Written by Nick Luck on Friday, 25 April 2008I am off to Sandown this afternoon and I am pretty confident we can get a winner or two. The nap of the day is Corrybrough 2:25 Sandown. He is a horse I loved last season and he has been working with some good horses at Henry Candy’s yard. If he translates that home work to the track then I think he is well handicapped.
Mark Johnstone’s Arctic Cape in the 1.15 and Sir Michael Stoute’s Conduit in the 4:10 are others to consider. They are both progressive and look interesting today.
Twice Over will miss the Guineas and it is a shame. He won the Craven Stakes, an established Guineas trial, but his trainer Henry Cecil said after the race that he was more likely to go for the Derby. As a consequence he will go to the Dante for his Derby trial and that race at York is the most recognised Derby trial.
