A Night at the Theatre

It’s a particularly important day for Godolphin, who had an appalling start to their season over the Guineas Weekend.
They run a horse they’ve acquired from France called Alexandros. If he doesn’t post a big showing today, there’ll be some blues in the Royal Blue camp.
He had good form in France last year, group one place form, and looks every inch a horse who’s going to improve over a trip.
He’s got good form but the stable who have acquired him have not started the domestic season well. They’ve not hit the ground running since their return from Dubai. They’ll be looking at a shot in the arm today.
For my tips, there’s one at Chester – Red Gala in the 2:45 who I’m hoping will be a good price. Jamie Spencer is riding this horse. I expect him to run well.
Two of the best punting opportunities are at Aintree.
Cape Greko can turn over the likely favourite Zilcash in the novice chase at 6:15. A really fluent round of jumping at Huntingdon last time and I think with Tony McCoy once again booked he can go well.
In the finale at 8:25, Theatre Belle is a mare I love. She travels really smoothly through a race and I think decent ground will help here.
