Crewe Alexandra and Gillingham are two decent footballing teams in League One, with both teams looking better going forward than they do defensively.To date both teams have a total goal tally of 39 (scored and conceded) from the dozen league games each has played. That averages out at over three goals per game each.
That isn't terribly surprising when one looks at the way Crewe play the game, with manager Dario Gradi never having been one to be overly concerned as to his defence.
Both teams can also call upon young strikers who are already beginning to attract the attention of scouts higher up the football chain, with Crewe Nicky Maynard and Gillingham's Matthew Jarvis both enjoying good starts to the new season.
Goals should again be on the agenda in this one, so Stan James offer of 5-6 on 3 or more goals in the game looks worth a look.
