Peterborough Promotion Push Still On Track
Having under-achieved massively this season, big-spending Peterborough United are finally beginning to hit form as the season comes to a close. With three straight wins behind them, during which they have bagged nine goals without reply, Peterborough are rapidly closing in on the top seven and a place in the League Two play-offs. They might have left their run just a little too late, but it seems that they are going to give it a mighty try nonetheless.
This Friday sees them pay a visit to another promotion hopeful in Shrewsbury Town, a team that has yet to taste defeat in League Two in 2007. Impressive though that record is, it does equate to only nine games (Shrewsbury have several games in hand on all their play-off rivals) and five of those have been drawn.
Shrewsbury are undoubtedly a decent team at this level, but the quality in the visitor's squad and the confidence that they now seem to have does make them backable here. Winning at Gay Meadow might not be easy though, so the bet here is probably the Asian Handicap, with VC Bet offering 9-10 on Peterborough 0, +0.5. That will translate as a winning bet if Peterborough are themselves victorious, while giving the cover of a drawn game resulting in you winning half your stake multiplied by the price, with half your stake being returned.
