Handicap Tie, with Totesport offering 5-2 on such an eventuality. That would mean a winning bet should Chelsea win the game by any one-goal margin

Bet Advised: Saturday 16th December 2006

With Chelsea struggling to keep pace with Manchester United at the top of the table, tomorrow's trip to Goodison Park to face Everton could prove to be a defining moment in the title race, with anything less than the maximum haul of three points for the Londoners proving potentially damaging in their efforts to retain the title.

Everton are not a team to be taken lightly, with David Moyes having built a hard-working outfit that is rarely on the end of a hefty beating while, for their part, Chelsea are usually a fairly pragmatic team, who are not noted for putting the opposition to the sword once they have their noses in front.

There seems a strong possibility that, given what's at stake for the Londoners, that Chelsea will just edge this game. It therefore looks worth having a reasonably speculative punt on the Handicap Tie, with Totesport offering 5-2 on such an eventuality. That would mean a winning bet should Chelsea win the game by any one-goal margin. That looks a very reasonable prospect.
