Chesterfield Building Towards A Quick Return To League OneThe pre-season betting for League Two is dominated by big-spending Peterborough United, with Darren Ferguson's expensively assembled squad being as short as 3-1 in some places to win the title.
Having such a short price favourite does ensure that there is value to be had elsewhere in the market. One team worth keeping an eye on is Chesterfield, relegated from League One last term, but already in the process of rebuilding to try and bounce back at the first attempt.
Manager Lee Richardson has opted for experience with his new recruits, with defenders Kevin Gray and Gregor Robertson and forwards Jack Lester and Steve Fletcher also all having played at higher levels. The latter pair could prove a real handful to opposition defences next term.
It looks set to be a highly competitive battle to escape from League Two next season, but there should be enough quality about the Spireites to have them in among the promotion contenders.
