Despite possessing arguably the strongest squad in the Championship, Steve Bruce's Birmingham City have yet to fully convince this season, with the manager's job being under threat after a poor run of results from mid-September to mid-October.

Things have since picked up and they are now fourth in the table and within three points of Cardiff City at the top of the table.

They should make further progress this afternoon, when struggling Barnsley travel to St. Andrew's. The Yorkshire side will be looking to build on last weekend's 3:2 derby victory over Leeds United, but a defence that leaks goals at a rate of two per game could struggle to keep the likes of Gary McSheffrey, Nicklas Bendtner and Cameron Jerome, even though Birmingham are missing influential players such as David Dunn, Damien Johnson and Matthew Upson.

The 39-40 available with Click here to Bet VC BET for Birmingham City -1 goal on the Asian Handicap looks an interesting punt, paying dividends should they win by two goals or more and returning your stake if they secure a one-goal margin of victory.
