Having started the season with a 10-point deduction for having entered administration, it speaks volumes for the efforts of the coaching team and players at Crawley Town that they have managed to haul themselves back to within touching distance of the safety zone at the foot of the Conference. However, things are still far from straightforward at the Sussex club, with massive financial difficulties under the controversial Majeed brothers still causing the club no end of problems.
The latest episode in the long-running drama was the 28-day adjournment of a winding-up order on the club for unpaid taxes, while recent weeks have also seen the departure of manager John Hollins and captain Danny Brown, among others, as part of a cost-cutting exercise.
These incidents must be having an impact on the players and it is difficult to see how they can continue to defy the odds in gaining results under the circumstances.
Altrincham are not exactly in the best of form themselves, but given the problems facing the opposition, the 6-5 available on the Altrincham victory with William Hill looks worth a punt.
